32 Weeks
We have reached the 32-week mark! BunBun is 80% “loaded”!

The first part of our week was spent with family and friends in Rye. We had a great time at the annual Cookie Party on Sunday. (We even dressed up for the occasion – see below!)
Tuesday was an exciting day as my top braces were removed! We also had another OB appointment. My weight gain was higher at this appointment than the one two weeks prior, but my belly measured 34 centimeters which is in the healthy range. My blood pressure and BunBun’s heart rate were also good.
Yesterday, we put up curtains on the two nursery windows, making it feel much cozier. We’re getting ready to go back downstate tomorrow for more Christmas shenanigans with Kurt’s side of the family.
Development
BunBun is now the size of a plastic scooter board, around 18 inches long, and weighs about 4 pounds. He probably started to suck his thumb, which is a sign of healthy development. His head has a full coating of fuzz, and his skin is filling out as he packs on weight. He is “swimming” like crazy in the little room he has left.
My Pregnancy Experience
This week’s swollen feet and a few nights of intense acid reflux made second trimester bliss a distant memory. Sleep is frequently interrupted at night, and I haven’t been able to sleep much past sunrise, so I’ve been indulging in daily naps again. It’s a small price to pay to grow a little human. We’re still amazed by BunBun’s conspicuous movements. Some are fast flutters or quick rolls while others are prolonged protrusions that make me think he’s only moments from escaping. I’m especially entertained when I feel movement on opposite sides of my abdomen at the same time–maybe full-body stretches?
