29 Weeks

We hit the 29-week mark!

Our upstate Baby Shower is coming up this Saturday (YAY!), so we spent some time this week tidying and putting things where they belong (not easy in a house that is in constant re-construction mode). We put up our last Christmas tree as a duo. It’s a fake one this year, to avoid critters like the ones that migrated into our house on last year’s fir tree.

Wednesday was a big day. First, I had the last necessary bracket added to the metal in my mouth. (With any luck, these puppies will be off by mid-December!) Then, I arrived home to find out that BunBun’s crib arrived a day early, so we spent a whole 20 minutes that evening putting it together. (It’s pictured in the background of this week’s belly photo.) So exciting!

Development

BunBun is now the size of a Barbie convertible, around 16 inches long, and weighs almost 3 pounds. His movements will get less violent as he puts on weight and grows to the bounds of the womb. He is still moving more and more every day, but we’re nearing the point when his movement  frequency will plateau for the rest of the pregnancy. His muscles and lungs continue to mature, and he still has plenty of weight to gain in the next eleven weeks.

Symptoms

Acid indigestion made an appearance twice this week, just before bed each time. It also appears as though my belly button is on the verge of losing its “innie” status. Stay tuned!
