22 Weeks

We have arrived at 22 weeks!

The nursery and our bedroom now have paint on the walls and floors! Two coats, in fact. We decided to paint the floors instead of re-finishing them because we can. And re-finishing makes a huge mess. (I’ll save the progress shots for a future post.)

In unrelated news, Kurt and I set off on a two-day trip to celebrate our Second Anniversary today. (Technically, our anniversary isn’t until next Tuesday, but waiting is hard.) Kurt planned the whole thing and somehow kept it a secret from me until we were within an hour of…Niagara Falls! I’ve never been, so this is quite the experience. We are staying on the Canadian side. Apparently there are two Marriott Hotels that overlook the falls within spitting distance of one another; we know that because we tried to check into the wrong one first. Our room at the Marriott Fallsview overlooks the falls (background of photo above). They really are an amazing sight! We’re going to take a boat tour, walk along the white rapids, journey behind the falls, and tour the nearby butterfly conservatory tomorrow. Below is a photo of us getting misted as we walked along the sidewalk this evening. 20171012_183639

Development

Okay, back to BunBun. He is now the size of a water bottle, about 11 inches long from head to toe, and he weighs about one pound…ONE POUND! I’ve personally been waiting for the week when this happened just because it seems like such a major weight milestone. His skin is still very wrinkled. He’s spending 12-14 hours a day sleeping. The remainder is spent trying to touch anything he can: his face, body, umbilical cord, etc. His inner ear is developed to the point where he has a sense of balance, and he is becoming increasingly able to hear us when we talk. So exciting!!

Symptoms

Feeling larger by the day, and sleeping is getting a bit more uncomfortable. I’ve also noticed that my belly button is more shallow than it was a few weeks ago. My “innie” may become an “outie” shortly.
