12 Weeks

Twelve weeks along now!

We had some fun last week. Matt spent the weekend with us, we went to the fair on Sunday, then attended an Alabama Shakes concert on Tuesday (which was Kurt’s planned birthday present). We’re heading to Connecticut today to spend a week with family and likely spread “the BunBun news” to Kurt’s aunts, uncles, and cousins.

I’m not sure that I’m any “rounder” than I was at six weeks, but I’ve come to love all of my long, jersey-knit dresses. Any jeans that I wear are rarely buttoned, especially if I’m sitting down.

Development

BunBun is now the size of an apricot, over two inches long. Its kidneys are beginning to function, and it has also started building up the waste that will be stored until its first poop. Fun stuff!

Symptoms

Now that I’m at the end of the first trimester, the old symptoms will give way to new ones. At the moment, I’m feeling good, though. Fatigue, nausea, and soreness seem to have dwindled away. Now I get to be on the lookout for heartburn.
